How we work?
Please use the contact us page to get in touch. We'll arrange to call you back on an online video call to see each other face to face.
Why?
Firstly it breaks down barriers on the day of tuition as a working relationship has already been made and you know who to look out for and vice versa! Secondly, workshops are tailored to your needs and what you want to get out of the day. It would be pretty pointless spending an hour talking about histograms and exposing to the right when you don't know what a histogram is, so by spending time on a video call we can work out your level of photography and when we start our time together, can hit the ground running and maximise the time spent well.
How you can use your time?
Some learners wish to use all their time, either 4 or 8 hours up in one go and have intense days of learning. Some prefer to use their time (distance and subject depending) to split their time into 2 sessions. This allows teaching to take place, learners can go and put this into practise, before coming back together and then building on previously learnt knowledge. Lastly, some learners like to use an hour of their time to have support with online sessions. These can include video calling feedback on images, or online screen sharing photo editing.
Gear on the day
On our per meeting video call we’ll have discussed what gear you have, what’s good and maybe not so, so we can streamline what to bring on the day. This also allows me to determine if you may need to borrow gear from myself on the day such as a tripod, filters etc
Locations
Living in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan gives countless options on where to shoot. Using the Vale of Glamorgan as a starting point and working a 30 mile radius around that, locations could include The Vale of Glamorgan Heritage Coast with locations such as Llantwit, Barry Island, Southerndown and Ogmore by Sea. Porthcawl lighthouse during stormy weather, the South Wales Valleys rolling hill sides, Brecon Beacons mountains or the Waterfalls towards Neath.
